The world of budget laptops is about to change with the introduction of the Framework Laptop 12. This innovative machine, designed by modular repairable computer company Framework, promises to fix all the common issues associated with entry-level laptops. And it’s not just for adults – its durable design makes it perfect for students and young users as well.
According to CEO Nirav Patel, the Framework Laptop 12 is a product that has been long in the making. It boasts an easy-to-repair design, although details on how exactly this will work have not been revealed yet. But during a recent event in San Francisco, attendees were able to test out the laptop and confirm its sturdy build quality.
One potential downside is its small Shift key next to a neighboring Slash key, which may take some getting used to. However, this laptop offers many other impressive features such as a high-resolution touchscreen display with stylus support, upgradable RAM and storage options, Wi-Fi 6E compatibility, and four Expansion Card slots that allow you to customize your ports.
While exact pricing has not been disclosed yet, Framework assures customers that it will be more affordable compared to their previous model. And although their products may cost more than mainstream brands like Dell or HP initially, they are unmatched when it comes to modularity – allowing users to easily upgrade components like motherboards and processors in the future.
In addition to announcing the Framework Laptop 12, there was also news of a new AMD mainboard for their existing Framework Laptop 13 model. This means even older versions can benefit from improved performance without having to purchase an entirely new device.
If you’re excited about this game-changing laptop from Framework (and who wouldn’t be?), preorders will open in April with shipping expected in mid-2025. But wait…there’s more! Alongside the laptop, Framework also revealed the Framework Desktop – a promising addition to their lineup.
Don’t just take our word for it though. Attendees at the event were able to test out the laptop and have shared positive hands-on impressions. Stay tuned for an upcoming video showcasing this groundbreaking device in action.
